The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is an intergovernmental organisation, mandated by governments worldwide to promote the widespread and increased adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy.

IRELP is an IRENA project dedicated to promoting renewable energy education and training. It was developed to meet the growing worldwide demand for skilled renewable energy personnel, especially in developing countries, where they have an important role to play in development and poverty alleviation.
