SAIT POLYTECHNIC SIGNS TRAINING AGREEMENT

Montreal, April 22, 2010

Montréal, April 22, 2010 – The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) is pleased to announce the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SAIT Polytechnic (SAIT) to offer CGC-recognized courses as part of a program in the School of Construction. CGC has been hosting industry training at SAIT since 2008, and has a long standing relationship with the Polytechnic. As a result of this MOU, SAIT will incorporate CGC’s Installation and Residential Design courses into its own curriculum, and will be recognized by CGC as fully industry-equivalent training for individuals applying for their geoexchange accreditation under the CGC Global Quality GeoExchangeTM Program™.

“We have a solid and promising relationship with SAIT. The Polytechnic recognizes the importance of standardized, industry-approved training for the industry and we commend its willingness to engage into a long term training partnership” said Denis Tanguay, CGC’s President & CEO.

“Students seek an education at SAIT because they know we provide world-class, hands-on training and education,” says SAIT Vice President Academic, Dr. Gord Nixon. “The signing of this MOU demonstrates the importance of building industry partnerships that benefit SAIT students.”

Since 2006, the CGC has been working in close cooperation with dozens of industry experts who provided their technical expertise and knowledge to build comprehensive geoexchange courses. This broad industry participation and collaboration has made it possible for CGC to provide its training material to Colleges and Institutes of Technology. In return, training institutions bring into the equation their valuable training expertise and make recommendations on how to improve the training approach from an educational and technical point of view.

CGC presently has active memorandums of understanding with 16 Canadian colleges on 22 campuses and is currently working with over 15 colleges who are eager to integrate geoexchange into their curriculum.

The Canadian GeoExchange™ Coalition acts as the industry catalyst to unite private and public sector stakeholders, and to expand the market for geoexchange™ technology in Canada. As the nexus of information, training, certification, industry standards and public awareness, our mandate is to work with stakeholders to build the necessary infrastructure to foster the growth of the Canadian geoexchange™ industry.
