CGC RELEASES A BUYERS’ GUIDE FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS

Vaughan, December 14, 2009

Today the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) released A Buyer’s Guide for Residential Heat Pump Systems, a critical decision-making tool that reflects the current state of the industry’s market transformation and self-regulatory approach initiated and deployed by the CGC. The 32-page document builds on technical information previously published by the Government of Canada that is no longer up to date or available in paper format.

The aim of this publication is to help readers in their decision to purchase and install a ground source heat pump (or geoexchange) system. This document is not meant to be a “do-it-yourself” guide. It provides information on the different geoexchange technologies available in Canada and also proposes a financial decision-making tool.

“The publication of this Guide was long overdue” said Denis Tanguay, CGC President & CEO. “Over the past couple of years, we have received hundreds of phone calls from prospective customers interested in learning more about geoexchange technology. We hope this new Guide will help them better understand the technology and give them guidance to choose the right specialists” he added.

The Guide will be available for free on the CGC Website. Paper copies will be sold in bulk – on a cost recovery basis – to companies that are qualified under the CGC Global Quality GeoExchange™ Program® for distribution in trade shows and other business development events and activities.

The CGC, as part of its market transformation initiative, has trained and accredited thousands of industry professionals since early 2007 and a list of qualified companies and accredited professionals is available on its website.
