CGC Publishes Commercial Designer Accreditation
Montréal, 2012-01-11The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) released a new geothermal quality
program designation for commercial geothermal heat pump system designer today. This latest CGC accreditation for industry specialists recognizes adequate training and field experience of industry professionals, and responds directly to industry and member requests. Canada to Host the 11th International Energy Agency Heat Pump Conference

The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) has been awarded the organization of the 11th International Energy Agency Heat Pump Conference (IEA-HPC). The prestigious world-industry conference, organized every three years under the auspices of the IEA Heat Pump Programme, will be held in Montréal in Spring 2014. The IEA Heat Pump Programme Executive Committee, made up of one representative from each of fourteen member countries, decided the location in Atlanta (US) on November tenth.

2011-12-07, Markham (Ontario)Five Masters and PhD candidates engaged in original post-graduate studies related to geothermal heat pump technology have been awarded a combined total of $27,500 under the 2011 CGC Bursaries program. The winners are studying at five universities in Québec, Ontario and British Columbia.
CGC Announces the Winners of the 5th Annual GeoExchange Excellence Awards
2011-12-07, Markham (Ontario)The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) heartily congratulated the 2011 winners of the 5th GeoExchange Excellence Awards here tonight. The prizes for Excellence are awarded to regional geothermal heat pump projects which showcase both complexity and quality of installation and design. This year, CGC bestowed awards for projects in three regions: Québec, Ontario and British Columbia. There were no entries for Atlantic Canada or the Prairies. CGC Invests $10,000 in St. Lawrence College Foundation

The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition today proudly announced that its board of directors have approved a one-time $10,000 contribution to the St. Lawrence College Foundation. The gift will be used to establish an endowed bursary fund in support of a Canadian GeoExchange Coalition Scholarship at the College. This contribution will be endowed and matched by the Ontario government through the Ontario Trust for Student Support initiative. The resulting $20,000 endowment is expected generate an annual award of $1,000 for a student studying in the College’s new Geothermal Engineering Technician program. The contribution was officially remitted during an awards dinner at the CGC annual conference in Markham.
