NOVA SCOTIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO OFFER GEOEXCHANGE TRAINING

The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) is pleased to announce a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC). As a result of this MOU, NSCC has incorporated new online courses within its School of Trades and Technology.  Geothermal: Energy Exchange Installation is already being offered and later this year the College will accept applications for Geothermal: Designer, Residential.  These courses will be recognized by CGC as fully industry-equivalent training for individuals applying for their geoexchange installer accreditation under the CGC Global Quality GeoExchangeTM Program.

LE COLLÈGE COMMUNAUTAIRE DU NOUVEAU-BRUNSWICK (CCNB) SIGNS PROVINCE-WIDE TRAINING AGREEMENT

Montréal, December 16th, 2009 – The Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) is pleased to announce the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB). CGC applauds this first province-wide training agreement which enables all of New Brunswick’s French language colleges to offer full-semester CGC-recognised courses as part of their curriculum.

CGC ONTARIO CAUCUS LAUNCHED TO ACCLAIM

Vaughan (Ontario), December 14th, 2009

 

GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) congratulated members in Ontario today on the official launch of a first-ever Ontario members Caucus. The event, attended by more than 50 CGC members, began with a half day of presentations by:

 

  • Ontario Ministry of Environment on the 2009 groundwater consultations;
  • Ontario Conservation Authority’s perspective on hydro-geological issues;
  • Toronto’s Energy Efficiency Office on current incentives and successes;
  • Toronto District School Board describing four new geothermal school bid processes; and
  • CGC staff on preliminary results of the 2009 national codes and standards consultation; and
  • CGC’s CEO on the first statistical results from its comprehensive ‘State of the Industry’ analysis.

CGC RELEASES A BUYERS’ GUIDE FOR RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS

Today the Canadian GeoExchange Coalition (CGC) released A Buyer’s Guide for Residential Heat Pump Systems, a critical decision-making tool that reflects the current state of the industry’s market transformation and self-regulatory approach initiated and deployed by the CGC. The 32-page document builds on technical information previously published by the Government of Canada that is no longer up to date or available in paper format.  Read more
